Hi Sharie, if you have your notice of assessment from your 2021 tax return you can look at line 23600 to find your net income for tax purposes. This taxable income is used to evaluate your GIS benefit. Due to the clawbacks on GIS benefits you will unfortunately not qualify for the maximum and depending on the exact income on line 23600 you unfortunately may not receive any GIS benefit for the July 2022 to June 2023 period.
For those who received Full CERB and CRB in 2021, will GIS be clawed back ?
My earnings not including the $18,600 received from CERB and CRB were $5,109 plus a $10K Grant from BC Recovery = $15,109
Will I qualify for full GIS ?
I could submit my Notice of Assessment from my 2021 Tax Return
